The Testimony of Non-Christian Sources

Even non-Christian historical sources confirm that Jesus lived, was crucified, and that His followers claimed He rose. 

The Jewish historian Josephus wrote about Jesus' crucifixion and His followers' belief in His resurrection (Antiquities 18.3.3).

 The Roman historian Tacitus confirmed that Jesus was executed under Pontius Pilate and that Christianity spread despite persecution (Annals 15.44). 

Pliny the Younger, a Roman governor, wrote in 112 AD about Christians worshiping Christ as divine, demonstrating that belief in His resurrection was already widespread. 

If the resurrection was a mere legend, it is unlikely that multiple non-Christian sources would acknowledge its rapid growth and the commitment of its followers.
